Dr J B Boringa
Jan B.S. Boringa (1962) has worked as a neurologist in the Meander Medisch Centrum in Amersfoort (Netherlands) for more than a decade now.
He was educated in neurology at the University Medical Centre (VU) of Amsterdam in the nineties. Inspired by his educators, prof. dr. J.C. Koetsier and prof. dr. C.H. Polman, he developed a special interest in multiple sclerosis (MS) patients. During his education he got engaged in research of cognition in MS patients. As a result, normative values for two separate versions of the Brief Repeatable Battery of Neuropsychological Tests have been published.
As a clinician he covers the whole field of neurology, however with a special interest in multiple sclerosis patients. In the MS Centre Amersfoort multiple sclerosis is approached in a multidisciplinary way. Special care is given to the early treatment of MS with immunomodulating agents and to patients having cognitive complaints. For optimizing the assessment and treatment of patients with cognitive disturbances there is an intense collaboration with the department of neuropsychology.
Jan B.S. Boringa is married, he has got two children. His other matters of interest are exploring China and Modern Art.
